Best lubricant to slip on heater hoses 900

I recently posted on tips to replace heater hoses on my 95 945 and appreciate the responses. Steve mentioned lubricating the non firewall /heater core side to slip on the engine..Lubricate with what?? small amount of vaseline?? Im scared about that small amount washing off in the antifreeze..What do you guys think??? JOHN
