134A Conversion Question for an 89 240 200

It's time to take the plunge and convert from R-12 to 134A. I am replacing the high pressure hose from the compressor (it is bad) to the condenser and will convert to R134A at the same time. I know I need to replace the Drier, seals and use new oil. My compressor is still good. Can anyone confirm whether or not I must also replace the expansion valve? Can anyone point me to good instructions on how to do this conversion? Sure appreciate all the help.
