Thank you for helping me with my acceleration problem. I had the same problem with the AMM that James had--bad pin connections that were pushed out of the connector housing. After correcting this and following Aye Roll's other suggestions the problem seemed to be solved, but since it was intermittant and i had no way of knowing right off, I went ahead and had the pre-pump and sender replaced for $120 labor and $100 parts. better safe (and broke) than stranded--and hey, i wasn't going to eat this month, anyway.
