At the end of my A/C rope 900 1993

Its a nice day here in southern Wisconsin, So for kicks I fired up the AC today. No compressor, not even on/off for a second. This is disheartening because last fall I had new hoses, condensor, and associated piping installed. I did not notice any leaking over the winter from any of the joints, I monitored this closely given past problems. I jumpered the pressure switch closed and it fired right up. I only did this for a few seconds in case the system is actually empty. In the past I have seen AC systems kick on and off if the charge is low, but this is not even doing that. Could it be a bad AC switch? How can the refrigerant get low if I havent noticed any leaking??? I think the next course of action is to get the system pressure checked. Any other tips.

Matt
