Last week I tore up the front end. Some one left a concrete curb in the middle of the road. Got some what lucky because I got the car down to 5 to 10 mph before tapping it. But anyway $1000 in parts later, $600 for the shock tower alone. Lucky for me the IPD 25mm front bar took the worst of the damage. But back to the original reason for the post. When I pulled it out of the shop to take it home last night it was running like garbage. It idled fine and ran ok as long as you drove it like a little old lady. But get on it and then I found it had no power, an intermittent miss, bogging down. Took it back this morning and we went over the car top to bottom. Checked all the hoses, vacuum lines and Intercooler for leaks. Nothing even went over all the electrical connections nothing. They said tell us exactly what it is doing. I said the tach when the car is warmed up bounces between 950 and 750 rpm. No power between 1000 and 2000 rpm. It will rev to 5000 with no problem just didn't have any power under boost and it has an intermittent miss. Even though the gauge was showing at least 10psi the power curve was just not there. One of the guys said I bet you cracked the distributor cap when the engine snapped back after you hit that concrete curb. He removed the cap and there was a crack that ran between three of the posts. Changed the cap and rotor and she runs like a champ. When I checked out the FAQ last night everything pointed to a Fuel pressure regulator problem. Hope this story helps someone else solve a problem with out having to unnecessary replace parts trying to find an intermittent problem
