Brake Fluid Flushing piston clamping 700 1989

How effective will brake flushing be if I skip the steps to clamp the pistons when doing a flush? The Volvo service manual says the pistons must be held with special clamps/holds during the flush process - not just momentarily pressed as the FAQ suggests. I'd also avoid having to remove the wheels and pads - a much simpler process.

I have an 89 740 turbo with Bendix/ATE brakes. I picked up the Motive powerbleeder which came with 2 litres of ATE type 200 brake fluid. With the fluid's high quality/boiling point and an extra quantity to flush through I was hoping to do an adequate job.
