Freeze12 Question 200

Last week when the weather warmed up, my A/C quit. I knew it was low on R12 and last fall I knew I would have to fix something by spring. Spring is now here. I have a leaky hose (the old one with the muffler that goes to the recv/drier). So I bought a replacement hose and new rcvr/drier. My thought is to replace hose and drier, new o-rings, and then refill with Freeze12 after I have local garage do a good vacuum. Am I on track? Option #2 is to NOT replace the recv/drier (save $40), vacuum and refill with Freeze12. Option #3 is to buy a 134 coversion kit (approx $200) replace the recv/drier, O-rings, expansion valve, evaporator, etc. Option #2 is the cheapest. Any thoughts out there on this? Is replacing the drier necessary? As always, thanks!
