Odometer repair question 200

I intend to repair the odometer in my mom's volvo. I caught Eric-S's instructions, so I shouldnt have any problems, but I was wondering if its possible to manually roll the mileage forward. Yes, I said forward; the odometer's been broken for a while, and missed alot of miles, but my mom really wants to see it hit 300,000. There wouldn't be any issue of accuracy, really, she's going to keep the car till it dies. So is it possible, and how would I do it? It would make her very happy!
