Alternator Disassembly 200 1987

Some of my indicator lights on the dash stayed on contineously in a dim state.
Tested the battery ok. Removed the alternator and found one of the brushes stuck in its holder.

This condition caused the slipring to be dirty and oxidised. I wanted to disassemble the alternator to clean the slip ring but was not designed for easy disassembly. I could sand the slipring in place, I am concerned with the residuals fallin into the alternator creating more problems down the road.

To disassemble the alternator, the pully/fan must be removed to access the screws (Phillips cross bit required) holding the two halves of the alternator case together but the shaft must be held with a 5/16 allen key while the 22mm nut is turned.

Problem, cannot have the ratchet and allenkey in the same physical location at the same time. Any easy solutions to this without haveing to make up special tool?
