changing heater control valve.. 200 1990

So, I got the binary thing going on (1990 240 wagon)

Either hot or cold.

I am pretty sure that I will need to change the heater control valve. I think it's easier to just put in the old style valve, ( a metal one though) .

Any hints or suggestions?

Am I looking at a full day of work ?
