Well, I got the Bosal downpipe in today and installed in about 2 hours. I'm sure this could have been done faster, but I had a WHOLE lotta fun getting the old downpipe off the header. I thought I'd share a coupla tips with anyone that is getting ready to (or needs to) do this same project; First of all, the Bosal product matched the old downpipe fairly well, except that it lacks the thin 'heat shields' at the bends. I like this because when I pulled my old one off there was at least a half dozen split-pea sized rocks trapped under the guards. (No wonder the mechanics could never track down that elusive rattle). Also, one complaint about the old downpipe with those guards is that they actually were hiding the full extent of my exhaust leak. When I disconnected the downpipe from the Cat and the hangers, I found out that the downpipe was completely separated into two pieces (held together at the seam by the guard) One complaint I do have about the Bosal product is that the joint between the downpipe and the header has very little to no clearance between the bolt hole and the weld bead. Because of this, one of the nuts was not able to fully seat against the mating surface, although it is holding the joint just fine.
