(Sorry if this posts twice, the first seems to have gotten lost.)
Cleaning out the garage over the weekend after finishing with the 745t I ended up with a mountain of empty Mobil-1 bottles. Holy smokes! At $5 a throw I'm wondering about the necessity.
For the turbo's sake, I've been using Mobil-1 since buying my '95 855t a year ago. When I bought my 185,000 mile '88 745t in January, the first thing I did once home was change oil to M1. I don't know what was used in either before me but felt synth was necessary for long turbo life.
I've used Kendall GT-1 in my motorcycle since new in '86 and notice from it's bottle, and Kendall's website, that it is intended for both turbocharged and N/A gasoline engines.
Anyone using GT-1 dino or know of why I shouldn't? The 855t will hopefully sell soon so I'll only be maintaining one turbo car, but on my 745t, I'd still prefer to spend $1.25 per quart over $5 given it's mileage and that I change at 3-4000 miles.
Opinions?
