Safe to install turbo+

I have a 1988 745 TIC with the B230ET engine, i.e. 182 bhp. It has done 290k miles and not always been so well treated. I have just replaced inlet and exhaust gaskets, breather box, turbo oil pipes, plugs, dizzy cap, rotor, plugs, plug leads, timing belt, K&N filter and renovated suspension and brakes. I have a lead on a turbo plus kit in the States. 1, Will this fit my car as mine is the non-catalytic converter engine with no lambda sond and 2, will my engine blow up given its age? Apparently, these kits add up to 30 bhp and bring boost up 5 psi. I kind of like the idea of 212 bhp in my Volvo but am I dreaming?
