Recarpeting my Volvo wagon / Painting the e-brake? / Third seat? 200 1990

I just bought a 1990 240 wagon and the last owner was a smoker. Ick. So, needless to say, the car reeks like cigarette and cigar smoke. The carpets are also a mess - they are tan and just nasty. I imagine that 90% of the stink is coming from these carpets since the seats are leather. In any case, I want to replace the carpet with black carpeting (inside is two-tone, black and tan). I am also going to replace the center console with a black one -- mine is about broken anyway, and filthy. Having a hard time finding a new e-brake handle though.

My questions are: where can I find carpeting? Is it best to buy pre-molded or just the car carpeting from Wal-Mart? We are going to do this ourselves. Is it easy? As far as insulation, do I need to get the stuff that is made for cars or can I just use carpet padding from Home Depot?

The second question is, if I cannot find a new e-brake handle in black, can I paint the old one somehow? With what?

Lastly, I have a third seat. Never used, tan, vinyl. I won't use it. Has one small rip about an inch on the back where it was pinched in the compartment (that's what it looks like). If you or anyone that you know is interested in this, I am looking to sell it.

Any suggestions are appreciated!
