My wife's 240 Wagon with the B230 engine has been stalling out at intersections
and exhibiting a lurching forward when starting from a full stop in first gear.
The car doesn't do this after a cold start, only after running for a while, and
otherwise runs rather well for its age (230,000+ original miles). I recently replaced the distributor rotor, distributor cap, new ignition wires, new spark plugs and a new air cleaner element. All of this maintenance increased power and normal smoothness of operation. However it did not clear up the stalling/lurching problem. The next job on my list is to replace the fuel filter (mounted beneath floor boards). Any other components I should be investigating/looking to replace ? One more clue, my wife says it does it more often with a full tank of gas than when the tank is below half full. Any insight/advice is appreciated. Joe Walsh, Stockton, New Jersey
