When to call it quits? 200 1987

Greetings,
Although I have enjoyed reading various threads here in the past, this is my first post and thanks in advance for any insight!

I drive an '87 245 DL Wagon with 267K miles. The body is in great shape (almost no rust) and it starts and runs consistently well. However, I am now faced with an estimated $2,000 in costs related to steering and suspension issues (Steering Rack and U-joint replacement, A new right front strut, some ball joint repair, etc.) It also has a small tranny fluid leak and a couple of the motor mounts are weak.

Am I insane to invest over $2K in this volvo with this many miles?
If the answer is yes, I am debating where to go from here. Find another 240 with less mileage/wear? Look at a 96 or 97 850? Go for a newer 98-99 V70 Wagon? From the threads I have read here it seems that both 850s and V70s have their fair share of quirky maintenance costs.

Again, I appreciate any guidance on this from your collective experience.

Thanks.
