Does anyone know the numerical values of the temp gauge in various positions. Say, botton white line, 9 o'clock, line that seperates the red from the black?
At what position should you start to worry?
This would be for a 83 240, non-TCB (correct?).
The other day while running the wag at 4k while climbing up a from 9500ft to 11500ft the gauge crept up to about half way between 9 and the red. Excpected I know, but wait. I hit traffic near the top and had to come to a stop. At idle my oil light came on and the gauge read 1 bar. Usually I have good pressure and during the climb the gauge read 3.5 bar. 15mins past the hill, coasting showed no light, and 1.5-2 bar. Do I need to run a better brand of Dino oil, is it excpected to heat the oil up so much that it thins enough to reduce pressures that much?
Sorry so long -JonB
