Emmision Standards during inspection.

I thought that as the car got older, the Standards get more laxed. Well I just got my car inspected and I finally thought to look at the slip of paper instead of just put it in the glove box with the registration. I looked at the new Emissions test as compared to last years. Both the acceptable amount of Hydrocarbons and the Carbon Monoxide were almost Half as they were last year. making the test twice as stringent as it was.
I passed but damn! I bet the congressmans, the senators and the Presidents limosines aren't burning too clean, why does my car have to?
