Hello to you all.
Here in Ontario we have had three days of freezing rain. Today it was warmer, and the 1" thick layer of ice on the top of the car slid forward when I stopped. The ice sheet slid down and bent the passenger wiper blade down a few inches further than the parked position. When I returned home I see that the head of the shaft that the wiper secures to has separated from the shaft, and turns on the shaft, rendering the wiper useless. I don't know how I'm going to get the wiper off, and how to replace the shaft.
Anybody had this problem or something similar and fixed it? I'm thinking I'll need to remove the arm from inside the car, or if I can get the arm off the outside, maybe a quick weld will fix the splined piece back on, and then the wiper will go back on top and work again.
Any advise appreciated, and thanks in advance.
Sean
