I'm doing some rear suspension work and a couple of things are not quite right.
First, the new track rod bushing on the left (chassis) side is not a real tight fit and the rod has slipped forward a bit (see photo). Any suggestions as to how to get it to stay in place? Adhesive? Deform the eye in the rod? I could go so far as to drill and tap a hole for a set screw but I hope there's an easier fix.
Second, after installing the right side rear trailing arm bushing I noticed that it is rotated slightly from where it should be. Now I swear I had it properly aligned to start. I marked the bushing and the bracket and the arrow was at six o'clock. Upon completion it looks more like the diagram below (left side of diagram is front of car). No photo because I went ahead and installed the trailing arm before having second thoughts. I should just remove it and try again but can I get by like this?
When finished car will be equipped with IPD sport springs, 25mm sway bar and Bilstein HD shocks, if that has any bearing on the t.a. bushing.
