This is a continuation of my previous post (link http://www.brickboard.com/RWD/index.htm?id=612698).
I traced the problem (99% sure) to be the fuel pressure regulator. The car would idle like crap (the engine shakes so badly that it looks as if it's doing the Tango!!) and no power what-so-ever, and seems to be giving really bad mpg. Anyhow, there was no fuel in the vaccum line (no even a smell of it). I then unplugged the return line and connected a pipe to it and then into a jug. It seems as though it is releasing more fuel that it should at idle (much more than 0.5g per min....more like 2g/min!). While doing this, the car idled smoothly, placed it in gear (revved it a little with foot on brake) and no shaking or any noticebale loss of power...in other words, it seemed fine. Why would that be? If the FPR was bad, it should idle just like it did before I unplugged the return line. If that is the case, why did it give me more like 15mpg??
TIA!!
