780 seat problem-please help!!! 700 1987

The local volvo dealer doesn't seem to know how many cables need to be replaced to repair my seats that won't recline-PLEASE help as it may cost hundreds!! Which cable should be replaced or trimmed? WHERE ARE SCHEMATICS OF THIS CAR??? Please help! I don't want to get charged for parts that don't need replacement, but don't know how to tell and the dealer seems confused by this car.
