Problem with 1987 Volvo 240 continues. B230K engine (with Bendix ignition) cuts out when hot, may restart, dies again, then minimum half an hour before restart. Running sometimes prolonged by having choke out, sometimes not.

Anyone had experience of crankshaft position senser failure - what symptoms? This has been suggested as a cause.

Anyone know about the hot-start valve and associated relay? - black box near coil. Would failure of this relay cause these symptoms? Help - need to go on holiday at weekend!
