dealing w/temp extremes/staying cool in Spring! 200 1983

Gents/Ladies:

I am unforunately living in a zone where a week ago it was 30 degrees F (a bit below 0 Celsius, why didn't my country go metric back in 197_?).

Today, 84 degrees Fahrenheit @ 16h00 EST that's 29 degrees Celsius.

Hard on an aged cooling system.

In place and recently installed are 87 deg. C thermostat.

Removed belt driven fan and clutch over a year ago, very happy w/ "cheapskate" electric cooling fan I literally screwed in w/long screws.

Volvo had left holes there [in all-metal VOLVO-branded radiator for just such a procedure.

Made error of using a "recycled" "puller" fan from DELCO/GM ca. 1986 that "bit the dust" today.

Thought it would last longer...

Any advice on acquiring a similarly sized (14-16") electric fan, don't want to have to rely on car cabin heater fan (like today in urban traffic) as it's also from '83 I surmise. Perhaps something brand new that really would screw in to present radiator and could run reliablly "full time." Or good grade used.

I do have a garage avail. for installation of NEW water pump (HEPU)in box, present H2O pump is way tired.

4 Days to take a sane, sensible approach, fellow comrades: what should be my priorities?

Temp extremes will get even worse with global warming, eh?

Peace/de la paix
