As near as I can figure, a Group 46 battery is the proper type for this car. The major difference is that while most batteries/trays have the hold down clamp on the long side, a '73 Volvo and a Group 46 battery are proper combination, due to the short-side hold down.

I'd like an Optima or similar. Optima doesn't make a battery in Group 46. Has anyone else found one?
