loss of ground @pin #5 (83 245) 200 1983

the harness at the ecu # 5. acording to "chiltons" this should be ground,at this point its lost.i have no start.i hear the pumps,i smell fuel,i think that the injectors are not fireing(how to check them without a noid light?),i have spark, timing belt good.fuel tank is well above half full.replaced amm with one known to be good, replaced all(5) coroded wires @ firewall connection complete, the rest of the wireing under hood looks good(the wireing diagram in the "haynes"looks like someone fell asleep while writing it and never finished."chiltons"does not have wire diagrams.ok what did i miss?back to the #5 ground?this appears to be a ground wire that splits between the 02 sensor wire and the heavy grey wire that goes to the coil, but it doesnt actually connect to the coil only the "core" of the wire does,#5 just wraps around an insulated center wire that attachs to the coil, about a half inch before it gets to the coil it takes on another wire and heads off in another direction(i think it ties a lot of grounds together?)with a simple test light this wire is still not giving me a ground.where does this wire ground?what does this wire ground? does this sound like it would cause a no start?the car was running fine and just died.volvos arent suposed to die! where can i get a better wireing diagram?please help
