My engine (B21F K-jet) emits some sort of knocking noise at idle. It's not very loud, but you can hear it in the car with the windows down and the radio off. It's pretty consistent--like a repeated knocking noise (maybe about 5 times a second, warm or cold). I'm not quite convinced that it's detonation, how can I tell? What else could it be? Valves make more of a clatter sound, right?
