Tranny swap: 4 speed for a 5 speed into a 80 242. Worth it? 200 1980

I have the opportunity to swap a 5 speed from an 81 245 into an 80 242 GT. Is the gear ratio such that it won't be worth it or is it obvious that I will get more from 5 gears, especially I want freeway capability without having to run at 4500 rpm. Should I go for it? Thanks for your input!
