No spark, bad ECU? bad fuel pump?; bad fuel pump relay? 700 1999

Okay it's Friday 5-2-03. My spark test failed, w/ the #1 plug and wire removed from the head, but connected together. I held it from the exhaust manifold while my friend turned the engine over. I have replaced the ignition control module (power stage); radio noise suppressor; crank sensor; cleaned the throttle body; cleaned all related electronic connections to these relays and sensors w/ auto electronic cleaner; confirmed all grounding; new rotor, distributor cap; Volvo brand ignition wires, bosch ignition coil;and tested the fuel pump relay manually: both switches open when I crank the engine, then the front (1st of 2) switch opens immidiately upon shuting off the ignition, 6 seconds later the rear (2nd of 2) switch opens. When the 1st switch closes I can hear a whirring sound below the chassis (is that confirmation that the fuel pump is running?). The only reason I have not yet replaced the fuel pump relay is b/c it got lost in my order. From these descriptions can anyone tell me if I have a bad fuel pump relay, and/or ECU? I cannot get a SPARK going here. hmmm?
