Have several questions. I am considering painting my wife's 88 740. Before I do I would like to clean up the aluminum trim. Does anyone have a suggestion on how best to clean and polish. Also is the rubber on the lower window trim replacable? Does anyone have a recommendation on dent pullers? Is the rain gutter trim (wagon) replacable?
I want to replace the front hub/roter assembly on the 88 with the front roter assembly from my parts car (89 turbo). The 89 has abs and the 88 doesn't. Will the hole for the abs sensor be a problem? Also are the brake lines the same. I believe the calipers are different, one being bendix and the other girling. Will this swap work without converting the 88 to abs? The last question is which front bushings usually wear fastest? The sway bar and end link bushings are new. I was thinking of replacing the control arm bushings while I have the assembly apart.
