Leather or Vinyl 700

I have been looking at a lot of 89 to 95 740 and 940 cars and the "leather" in many of them looks a lot like vinyl, anyway, the leather in some of the newer ones is not very good stuff. Does anyone know if there was a vinyl option for the upholstery in these cars??? Bill
