Hi! In my '79 245dl I get this squeeking when I am brakeing, it sounds like an old school bus..? I got new pads only to pull off all my wheels and find my pads are fine. My brake fluid is fine also..Any Ideas? Also,in an unrelated problem, I changed my insterment panel bulbs (three) and they still don't work, I was wondering if it's like the old Christmas tree lights, that if one is out, the rest of the bulbs down the line won't work either? While screwing around with the bulbs, I was spinning the dimmer, which the local Brick garage said might be the problem, to make a short story shorter, the dimmer spring is no longer part of the dimmer...( I should not have messed around with it )..until I find a new dimmer switch at a pic'n'pull, can I bypass the dimmer? Might that solve my insterment panel light problem also?..I did notice after the spring popped out,(it was still connected it that point, I cut it out after I FUBAR'ed it) I still was playing with the dimmer switch and I noticed the lights on the fan knob 0 1 2 3 came on..Does that mean there is hope that I can fix it myself?
