in-tank pump loudness? 200 1988

I replaced the in-tank pump on my '88 244 a few weeks ago, it is still quite loud. What is the reason for this? Is something damaged that would cause this?
I bought it from FCPgroton a month ago (scan-tech brand I believe).
It sounds like a tornado alarm going off all the time.

Just wondering if there is anything I can do!
