I have a 1984 245GL, came with the hinge harnesses all dead. When I am finished with the repair, I want to have (1) everything working right, and (2) a third or high-level brake light.
To that end I have accumulated the left and right 1986-type harnesses, and a high-level brake light. Here's my problem:
The brake light looks just like the one on my 1986 sedan. That one is mounted using glue onto the glass. It is shaped so that, given the angle of the rear glass, the light housing is level.
On a 245 with vertical rear glass, that would look a little wierd, though it would probably work OK.
Is the light on a 245 different from the sedan version? How it is mounted onto the glass? Is there any support piece not used in the sedan?
I imagine that one of two good pictures will answer these quesitions.
Thanks in advance,
Bob
