87 245 W/S wipers quit..... what now????- motor shot?? - relay?? 200 1987

My wife was driving home last night when the wiper speed slowed down and then finally just QUIT.

So now the ole brick has no wipers.

Is the wiper motor KAPUT??

Is there a speed control or relay that is separate from the motor???

The wipers have sounded "clunky" when in use for quite some time - I tightened a fedw loose nuts on the linkage several months ago, and it eliminated some of the clunky noises -.

The car has just under 300,000 miles on it - doesn't use a drop of oil... but some of the little things are starting to need attention.......
