I'm stuck. Bad AMM?? 900 1993

It's sunday and I'm stuck with my 1993 945 turbo with 112k. The car stumbles and stalls - no power. I'm getting 1-2-1 from the computer - faulty or no signal to/from air mass meter. WIth the AMM connected the car will idle at about 1100 rpm and sill stumble and stall under power. With the AMM disconnected the car will idle at 750 rpm and stumble and stall under power.
Any ideas before I have a AMM overnighted to me?
