Last Saturday I got the turbo manifold and turbocharger (Garrett) out of a 740 Turbo.
This Saturday I got the head, the fuel rail, the injectors, and some intercooler hoses I forgot.
I'm going to be swapping the B230FT head onto my B23F block, but I had a few questions:
-Is there anyway to gain space at the back of the engine to use the 740 Turbo's distributor?
-What camshaft is in the B230FT motor to begin with?
-Other than a new head gasket, valve cover gasket, intake and exhaust manifold gaskets and a new camshaft seal, are there any other gaskets/seals I should look into replacing?
As for the A/C part of this post, I was driving down the road about a week ago when I heard a noise from under the hood that sounded like a semi-truck releasing the air brake. I got worried because I had just installed new stainless steel brake lines and bled the brakes, but when I opened the hood it turned out to be something green. At first I thought coolant, but it turns out that the top of the A/C compressor had actually been blown off and what had been sprayed everywhere was R134a with green tracer dye in it.
Yesterday I removed the A/C condensor and some A/C lines, but I'm puzzled as to how to removed the A/C compressor itself, since a belt from the engine runs it, and then a separate belt runs the power steering pump off of another pulley on the compressor shaft. Is there some way to remove the A/C compressor and move the power steering pump into the old location? Or maybe can you mount the pulleys in the same location as they were, remove the compressor, then leave the power steering pump where it is?
I must say thank you to SpeedRacer for his response to my last post of questions, the link and information provided was exactly what I needed.
