86 240 hard start-2 FPR good, Anyone changed a fuel check valve or have one go bad? 200

I just finished testing the FPR and plenty of gas there.

I also listened for pre pump and did hear that. When I pulled the fuse(PP)
I didn't hear the main get much louder?

Has anyone out there replaced a fuel check valve (before main pump) on a car this age.
It sure seems like a pressure issue since it fires right off on the second attempt.
This is intermittent by the way, and part of me is leaning toward the old don't fix if not broke wisdom? It just gets under my skin and keeps me wondering, part of what I love about these bricks. Whats the fun if it always works?
