springs and things..... 700

Ive got an 85 765 with the B230FT. I had put IPD sport springs in and over the course of 3 years the springs settled to about a 2 inch drop. With the combo of the length of the car, the exaust and Los Angeles driveways and streets, I have taken the springs out. I put in front springs from an 85 740 desil wagon, and rears from a regular B230 wagon. My big problem is the ride hight in the front is too high, I didnt realize when I took those desil springs that the desil weighs more and the car will sit higher because of the lighter motor I have. My main question is can these springs be cut. Now the last thing I'm gonna do is just go and cut them to get the car lower, but I've heard that springs with a consistant rate vs. a variable rate can be cut. the variable ones for obvious reasons should not be cut. Id like to avoid going with different front springs cause these are the 13.9 MM coils where from what I understand the non desils have 11.9MM or somthings close to that. Has anyone cut volvo springs? or knows any way to get the front down other than going with other springs? I'd like to keep the stiffest springs possible, but keep the correct ride hight. ANY info on volvo springs will be much appreciated, and when I get this the way I want, I may have a set of lowering springs for sale! Thanks
Mark
BTW...Overload coils for the rear and anti-swaybars are already on order :)
