'93 245 rear wiper 200

'93 245 rear wiper works. However, when you turn it off, it stops immediately where it is (ie, it won't return to the down position automatically) Also, in the intermittent position, it won't return to down position. I have to run the wiper and shut it off when the blade is in the down positon to get it to stop there. Any ideas?
