steering gear 200 1981

My steering gear is done. It wobbles and shakes when I hit bumps. Where, in Canada, can I get a replacement? I have heard that rebuilt ones can be as crappy as the one it is replaceing. Is this so? The actual replacement doesn't look too hard to do so I'm going to try it myself. If this is a bad idea please let me know.
