Steering Wheel making a groaning/rubbing noise... 200 1990

BrickHeadz,

Today, while driving, I noticed that the steering wheel has begun to make this slight groaning/rubbing noise when ever I turn.

Also, I feel a little left to right play in the wheel... This can't be related to bushings or suspension parts because EVERYTHING under the car is new -no more than 6 months.

It seems as though something on the column needs to be made tight. Is that going to be a problem with the SRS? Any pointers, advice, or wisdom? As always, thanks in advance. Peace, Jon
