Yesterday I seem to have successfully stopped my 245 blower motor from squealing. I (disconnected the neg battery cable) took off the consoles, disconnected the many connectors and bulbs, cleared some space through the wires, and drilled access holes into the motor housing as recommended by several postings on this and other Volvo web sites. I lubed the bearings at the l. & r. locations where the shafts enter the motor in the center. I used WD-40 with the spray straw, but then went to 10W30 with a regular straw, after trying the motor a few times before re-assembly. Hardest part is gaining an outside angle on the bearings while not drilling into the impeller housings (black plastic)under the outer ends of the center motor housing (tan on mine). It was chirping pretty noticibly, now is not - so I think the bearings were salvageable. The wood drill bits I used ensured that plastic tailings came out on the drill shaft, not into the housing. There was a slight smell of WD-40 when operating the motor, now gone (no big deal as it smells pretty good anyway.) We'll see how long it lasts, others have had long term success with this.
