Riding down the highway 10 minutes into a long drive, and the radio just stops on my '95 960 wagon (111,000 miles). I shouldn't have been surprised. The Volvo radio was already dead when I bought my first Volvo, a 240 wagon.
Anyway, I stopped and checked the fuse directory in my owner's manual, which says the same fuse controls the radio and heater fan. The fan still works. So what is wrong? The anti-theft light is off, the radio is completely dead.
Should I: A. bother with diagnostics for the am/fm cassette original Volvo unit? B. Try a used one on eBay? C. Just go to Best Buy and have them put a new one in?
If I have to go to a new radio/cd, is there a model or brand that seems to fit well in this car?
I have really enjoyed the logical dials and ease of use of this unit, but I want to find the best/cheapest answer to my dilemma.
You folks are always really helpful and I would appreciate any direction you can give. Thanks!
Jim
