I was replacing control arm stays on my 760 over the weekend and noticed that the nut on top of the upper sway bar bushing was not tight. This is the nut that holds the sway bar link to the sway bar. There are two rubber bushings (they look like donuts) above and below the end of the sway bar. The car was (and still is) completely supported by jack stands. Would that take pressure off of the suspension in such a way that this nut would no longer be tight on top of the bushing?
For an illustration of what I am talking about, look here http://www.fcpgroton.com/volvo700900ftsuspension.htm
In the picture, the sway bar is number 15, the bushing is number 12, and the nut is unnumbered, pictured directly above the bushings, at the top of the sandwich. Anyway, should that nut be tight and if so does anyone know the correct torque?
Thanks!
