tranny swap for 700/900 900 1993

I'm sorry if this issue has been addressed before, but I couldn't find it in the FAQs.

I just bought a nice 1993 945 turbo to replace my 1989 745 NA with 5-speed. Would I be able to swap the auto tranny from the 945T for the 5-speed (I forget the M designation, but it's the 5 speed without electic od)before I sell the 745?

I know that I've seen this type of swap discussed here before, but I've forgotten the details. And, I wondered if it might be easier to do it while I have both cars available.
