variable orifice tube 900

We have a 95 960 sedan, and we understand that the variable orifice tubes from Nartron are much better at managing the pressure and flow of the refrigerant. However, only the severe duty one is available where I am. We drive 80% city stop & go, shorter trips. It is 75-110 in summer May-October. Snow November - April. Is there any risk or danger to the a/c parts system using the severe duty VOV in a northern climate?
