RH Brake Light- bright with lights on but off it's dim like running lights? 200

Hey,

Still working on my damn lights! The last hurdle is the right hand brake light. When you press it without the lights on it only illuminates the running light (dim), when you turn the headlights on, the brake light gets bright and stays lit when you release the pedal. I'm also getting bulb failure indicator on dash.

I noticed that it has an 1157 bulb in it. I bought some of the OEM ones (5w), but haven't tried them yet as the car is at a garage. Could it simply be that the 1157 bulb is causing a conflict?

Any suggestions would be appreciated, I'm eager to certify this one so I can start enjoying it!!
