The time has finally come to do something with the horribly wallowy ride on my 90 244DL. The mileage on the original shocks/struts is now at 135k. The ride has been tolerable, but I know there is quite a bit of room for improvement. The shocks are NOT toast (yet).
I've convinced myself that I need to put on a set of Bilstein Touring Class shocks/struts. HOWEVER, I am beginning to convince myself that a set of IPD swaybars might be a good idea also.
I've read from various sources that large, performance-oriented sways can make an otherwise smooth-riding car ride very rough on undulating road surfaces (such as potholes, of which there are many in NE Ohio). Is this a significant problem with the IPD bars?
So, I guess my ultimate question, which would give me the greatest initial "bang for the buck" gain: sways, or shocks? Or should I just spring for both at the same time? Will I be unhappy with the IPD bars?
Thanks for the help folks!
Brian
