Cruise - speed or RPM related 200 1992

Guys,

I am fitting a volvo (86 I believe) cruise on a 92 Right Hand Drive (UK) car. It requires a bunch of mods to the fitting as the entire pedal assembly is different. Things are going fine, making good progress.

When I wire up the "brain" do I take the a speedo signal or an RPM (ign coil) signal? I have a manual so RPM would work. I guess if you have an automatic you want a speed signal. Does the volvo system use speed signal?

Where do I get the speed signal. On the back of the instr. cluster there is a double spade plug, unused, between the speedo and main warning light connector. Is that the one?
